His beautiful yarn

I know He began preparing our hearts for this almost 10 years ago. He set in motion everything we would need to be able to say yes when we saw her face. It was almost 10 years ago my sister was born. It was when the Dr. came into the hospital room to tell us she suspected Ali had Down Syndrome that His plan began to unfold. Looking back, I can see the yarn He has been using to weave our story to her. Never was it ever in my plans {or Trey's!} to be working on our second adoption in less than 2 years at the age of 28. Never was it in our plans to adopt a child with special needs this early on in our lives. But His plans are not ours; His are way better.

I loved her the moment I saw her. I can picture her sweet smile, her infectious giggle. I can picture her as a part of our daily lives. I knew from the start she would fit perfectly into the gap the Lord placed in our family. I knew she was worth fighting for. So that's what we'll do. We will fight for her. We will climb mountain after mountain. We will watch in awe as the Lord turns the impossible into possible. We will go to the ends of the earth for her. The Lord set her in our family long ago, now it's our privilege to go bring her home.

At this point we cannot share any information beyond this as we are still gathering a few things we need before we can go public with her sweet face. We covet your prayers and support as we continually try to step in obedience to Him.

much love,

Ps. Hop on over to my sweet friend Jade's blog. She's helping us get one step closer to our girl by hosting our first fundraiser! I'm in love with the work she has done and know these beauties will make amazing Christmas gifts!
