A splendid affair
Saturday, the ninth, marked our biggest fundraiser to date. And boy, oh, boy, was it splendid. When we started this adoption, I knew I wanted to fund-raise differently than I had with Solomon's adoption. I wanted to bathe our fundraisers in prayer. I wanted to sit back, pray, and let the Lord speak to me about how He wanted to provide for our Edna. I started praying about our Tea Fundraiser back in December. I knew the idea came from the Lord and I was super stoked about it. I had an idea of what I thought it would be like, how big it should be. He had a different idea. A much bigger, much better idea. Praise Him for that! I started talking to my sweet friend, Brenda, about it. Ideas flowed. Phone calls were made. It started to take shape. This whole fundraiser was marked with miracle after miracle. It had God's name written all over it. What I planned on being a little mother/daughter tea, turned into 150 beautiful women and special little girls coming along side us for this sweet day. It turned into 59 items donated to our silent auction. Roseburg Event Center{owned by long time, sweet sweet family friends} donated the room in honor of Edna. Ladies after ladies donated china for us to use. My mom, sweet Brenda {and RICH!}, and brother Jon, worked their tails off making it such a special day. Liz, {who made our video!} got our invites made for us and made an amazing soundtrack that fit the day perfectly. I never imagined it could have turned out as beautifully as it did, but the Lord did. He knew. and He showed off. I'm ecstatic to say that through ticket sales and silent auction items, the Lord provided $4,939 to help us get our girl home! To say that we are in awe and thankful would be an understatement. It's hard not having adequate words. When all I can say is thank you. Thank you to those of you who worked SO HARD making this day what it was. Thank you to all of you who helped us clean up, sort china, and divi up all the extra desserts. Thank you to those of you who bought tickets. Thank you to Michelle Russell, Cakes by Michelle Russell, for donating 300 miniature cupcakes that were delicious! Thank you to those of you who donated our amazing silent auction items. Thank you to all of you who bid on our items.Thank you to my sweet husband for handling my crazy in the midst of everything. Thank you to God who moved above and beyond what I ever imagined.
