level 2 might be the devil...

I finally finished up level 2 of the '30 Day Shred' this last Friday. I am not a big fan of level 2. It involves a lot of plank exercises and my wrists were not happy about that. I am thankful to move on to level 3 (which I did today, and wheew! it's rough!) but happy with the results of level 2 for the most part.

I honestly don't know how much I've lost pound wise right now. Our scale isn't working and last time I was weighed at the Dr.'s office. I thought about making another appointment, but didn't think the $25 co-pay was worth it!

Ugh. My arms didn't change at all in inches! I'm noticing different muscles but bummed they haven't gotten smaller. If any of you work out gurus have any advise about arms, let me know!

My waist is down about another 3 inches! (whoop whoop!)

My hips are down another 1/2 inch.

Slowly but surely, I'm getting there. I feel stronger. More flexible. Excited to see the results level 3 will bring!

Gotta do whacha gotta do

You're telling me you never used your child's snuggle blankie as a blind fold to coerce him into a nap during church?

Red Thread Sneak Peak

We  had our pictures taken by the very talented Lindsey Hawk of 'Lindsey Hawk Photography' a few weekends ago. She selflessly offers 'red thread' sessions to families who have recently adopted. She totally rocked it out and made my grouchy family look ahhhhhmazing! Here's a sneak peak! {more to come lata}

*Lindsey: Thank you so much for selflessly offering your incredible talent. You, my friend, are such a blessing!

"I don't know about you, but I could always use a little chest fly in my life."

 It's been a long time coming. I've needed it for a long long time. It brings sanity to my day. It wakes me up, gets me going in the morning. Makes me feel lighter. (physically and mentally) Brought back the feeling that I've missed for so long.

2 weeks ago, I started the 30 Day Shred by Jillian Michaels. I drag my big ole (but getting smaller!) butt out of bed every morning and do it. I curse it but love it all at the same time. It's the perfect work out. (in my opinion, of course) It's set up with 3 minutes of strength training, 2 minutes of cardio, and 1 minute of abs in 3 set intervals. The whole workout only ends up being about 20 minutes. It's great because just as you are hating yourself for buying the DVD and wanting to reach into the TV and punch Jillian in the throat, you only have one more interval left. {and really, who can't put up with her for just another measly 6 minutes, right?!?} Day 1-10 you do level 1, day 10-20 level 2, and 20-30 level 3. I just finished level 1 and on day 10, here are my results:

Note: {I'm not on a diet or anything. In high school I suffered with an eating disorder and have to be careful with dieting, so now I'm just trying to change little day to day bad habits: Making sure I drink LOTS of water. Cutting out soda...although I do allow myself a diet one on a really long day! :) Making sure I eat breakfast with protein. Making myself each lunch. Trying to make better food choices.}

I'm down 3 lbs
My arms are down 1/2 an inch
My waist is down about 1 1/4 inches
My hips are down 1 1/2 inches.

Not bad for 10 days, right!?!

Tomorrow starts level two. I think I'll start listening to my iPod and muting Jillian though....

Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jacks

Saturday marked the beginning of Trenner's first year of T-ball. The Oak Hill Youth League does it up right. We had a HUGE parade, first pitch thrown out by "Blue", the Colt's mascot, (a small section of the crowd may have boo'd him quietly and said 'Colts stink!') and practice games for all the teams. Trenner's been a bit iffy about playing, but with his best buddy/cousin on the same team, I think he had a pretty good time! The day was beautiful and we couldn't have asked for a better start into the next chapter of parenting a big boy.

Yup, he bats left handed....

He got a hit on his first swing!!

He played pitcher

Trenner and his best buddy/cousin Maddux

Can't forget this little chubba-cup!(Holy.Cow.he's growing like a weed. Can't really call him little anymore!) He did a great job sitting around, learning to blow bubbles (thanks to Aunt Teresa) and cheering his favorite big brother on!
